Aristotle

Student of Plato — Teacher of Alexander the Great (384–322 BCE)

Aristotle, one of the most influential thinkers in history, built a comprehensive system of logic, science, ethics, and politics. He studied under Plato at the Academy and later tutored Alexander the Great, shaping both philosophy and empire.

His works, from Nicomachean Ethics to Politics, sought to understand the nature of virtue and the best form of government. Aristotle’s emphasis on reason and empirical observation laid the groundwork for the scientific method.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

His philosophy dominated Western thought for nearly two thousand years. From biology to metaphysics, Aristotle’s influence remains foundational to how we think about the world and ourselves.
